About

Pocket Playthrough started as a shared spreadsheet between three friends who kept texting each other about which games were worth the storage space. Somewhere along the way the notes got too long for a group chat, so we turned them into a site. Everything here comes from phones we actually own, played on our own commutes and lazy evenings.

We don't chase every release. We pick games that seem to have an idea worth exploring — a clever control scheme, a story that keeps you tapping, a strategy layer that rewards patience. Then we play far enough to know whether the fun holds up after the first hour, because a lot of mobile games are great for exactly one afternoon and no longer.

Our guides are written the way we'd explain a game to a friend. That means talking about the moments where we got stuck, the settings we changed, and the small tricks that made a difference. If a game frustrated us, we say so. If it surprised us, we say that too.

Nobody here gets paid by a studio to like a game. The editorial pieces stay editorial, and we keep it that way on purpose.
